we're on a mission

WE'VE GOT YOUR PROGRAM!

With a state-of-the-art GOTO Star Machine in our Planetarium the only one you’ll see in the entire Northeast and brand new exhibits throughout the Museum, there has never been a better time to book your group visit to the Schenectady Museum & Suits-Bueche Planetarium

We offer the following types of programs: [click each title link for PDF]

Science Explorations:  Students improve their skills by using hands-on, minds-on learning. Programs are geared to a variety of learning styles and include hands-on exploration, Q&A discussions and participatory demonstrations.

Planetarium Programs:  Our state-of-the-art Suits-Bueche Planetarium features a variety of shows for 2008-2009! We are the only regional Planetarium where every show is hosted by an educator and includes a tour of the seasonal night sky. Unless otherwise noted, all Planetarium programs are 45 minutes.

Science Circuits:  Geared for groups from 50-150, the Science Circuit includes a planetarium show, a self-tour featuring our Science Challenge Exhibit Hunt, and a 25 minute interactive demonstration on either electricity or physics.

Outreach Programs:  Can’t make it to the Schenectady Museum? We’ll bring the excitement to you! Some of our programs can be adapted for your classroom.

Invention Convention:  Students define a problem, design an invention to solve the problem, and submit their idea on an invention disclosure form. The top 100 entries are invited to create a model of their invention for display at the Museum in the spring.

Online Lessons:  Use these activities when planning your classroom lessons.
